At the end of November, hosts Nils Henkel and Christian Siegling, extended invitations to Castle Lerbach, a stunning location for this the fourth gathering of the culinary think factory for European Master Chefs.
Chromatics, fermentation and food pairing were the themes of the event. Prof. Thomas Vilgis from the ‘Deutschen Akademie fuer Kulinaristik’ (German Academy of the Culinary Arts)was in attendance, not to mention five German 3-Star Chefs and numerous colleagues from Europe’s culinary elite who were also in on the act.
We were pleased to be a part, indeed almost as an established institution, with our camera’s at the ready as the work progressed towards a culinary vision of the future – it was, as ever, a unique and unbeatable experience.
Eighteen months travelling seven cities through out the UK and Germany, learning a lot about the different and individual approaches to food styles and menus from each of the participating chefs. This trailer introduces the seven German creatives. Another one showing the British participants of the WHITE PLATE project will be coming soon.

For the production of the first ‘Sweet Tank’ we interrupted our current WHITE PLATE Project in England for a day to fly south, taking with us only some light carry-on luggage. In Frankfurt’s Genussakademie of Atelier 3.0 the very first ‘Sweet Tank’ took place on the 15th October, 2012.
